The Chinese government is confident that the country’s economy will continue to grow by 6 to 6.5 percent per year. That is what the Chinese Finance Minister Liu Kun said at a meeting in Milan. During a financial dialogue between representatives of Italy and China, Liu said protectionism can harm global economic growth. According to him, Beijing will continue to work hard for agreements within multilateral organizations such as the World Trade Organization WTO and the G20. Liu did not talk about the ongoing trade dispute between China and the US. The economic superpowers have recently resumed trade negotiations.
