Swiss politicians will use this month’s World Economic Forum meeting in Davos to breathe new life into a planned free trade deal with the United States. The new Swiss president, Ueli Maurer, says the meeting is an ideal springboard for the talks. He’s due to meet Donald Trump in the mountain resort. There’s also a new Swiss economics minister, Guy Parmelin, to drive talks. The US ambassador to Switzerland, Edward McMullen, says new talks will have a good chance of success.
