Industrial production in Italy fell by 0.7 percent in April compared to a month earlier. This was reported on Monday by the Italian Statistical Office.

Economists generally expected production in the Italian industry to be stable compared to March. In that month there was still a decrease in production with an adjusted 1 percent on a monthly basis.

Production fell by 1.5 percent on an annual basis. Here an average decrease of 0.5 percent was predicted. A month earlier, production fell by an added 1.6 percent compared to a year earlier.
