VEON Telecom company has not yet received permission from the Egyptian financial authority for a privatization of subsidiary GTE. The Amsterdam-listed company announced this on Wednesday.

VEON announced the plan to get GTE from the Egyptian stock exchange in 2017, with the intention of simplifying the company structure. The company says that it remains committed to this and continues to negotiate with the Egyptian financial authority and other stakeholders to find a solution.
