Life A$AP Rocky places ‘bars’ on the Stockholm stage Posted on December 12, 2019 2 min read Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Google+ A$AP Rocky appeared in Sweden for the first time on Wednesday after his imprisonment in the country last summer. The rapper stated before his performance on Instagram that he was happy to be back in the Scandinavian country. Before the start of the concert in Stockholm, the stage had been converted into a large cell and the background dancers kicked off the performance in prison outfits. Yet Rakim Mayers, as the musician is actually called, mainly wanted to spread a love message. “Thank you all for coming here in Sweden, I have not brought us together to talk about the Swedish authorities, or about politics here or American politics. I am here today for love and unity.” In the afternoon, the rapper posted a video on Instagram from the Husby neighborhood, which he described as a slum. “We are here to visit our people, to let them know that we care. Those who come out of the hood come in for free tonight.” A$AP Rocky was held for over a month this summer after a fight in Stockholm. He was sentenced to a suspended prison sentence in August. He also had to pay a compensation of 1100 euros to the 19-year-old victim, who suffered injuries at the blow.
