Life Apple pulls hands off from the Richard Gere series Posted on September 4, 2019 1 min read Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Google+ A previously announced series with Richard Gere (70) in the lead role is not being made for the time being. Apple has decided not to continue with the production of Bastards, reports The Hollywood Reporter. The intention was to see Bastards on Apple TV +, the upcoming streaming service from the tech company. The show was based on an Israeli format, and would tell the story of two veterans taking revenge when their old friend is killed. Apple initially took over production after a bidding war, but the producers and the Silicon Valley company could not agree on the tone of the series. Apple would therefore have decided to pull the plug despite a hefty fine. Bastards would be the second television series in a short time in which the actor plays a leading role. He was shown at the BBC this spring with MotherFatherSon. It is not clear whether Bastards is still being offered to other channels or streaming services.
