Ariana Grande stylist denies stealing from old design

Law Roach, the stylist who put together the Ariana Grande wardrobe for her Sweetener world tour, has responded to the commotion that arose after it appeared that he had instructed a designer to make a copy of an old design. This was an outfit from Farrah Moan, a former candidate of RuPaul’s Drag Race. According to Roach, he has done nothing wrong, Entertainment Tonight reports.

“It is not strange that Rihanna was also in the photos for inspiration, who is not inspired by her?”

Not only Farrah Moan came to tell Roach, the well-known Instagram account Diet Prada also joined in the discussion. They accused the stylist of cultural appropriation, because he had put together a mood board with inspiration for garments that were largely worn by black women. And that while Ariana is not a black woman. Roach told Instagram Stories: “I don’t understand this post at all. I actually made this mood board, as a black man. So now I suddenly steal from my own culture? Ariana confides her image in her years and allows me my way. It is not strange that Rihanna was also on the photos for inspiration, who is not inspired by her? ”

Roach sent the mood board to various designers at the time to ask if they could design something for Ariana’s tour, including the designer who eventually copied Farrah’s outfit. But according to Farrah, that is no fault. “It’s a dragqueen from the neighborhood and she got a lot of money for it. She couldn’t refuse that offer. Later on she was also honest with me. So no, it’s not the designer’s fault.”
