Life Bill Cosby’s spokesman lashes out at Eddie Murphy Posted on December 27, 2019 5 min read Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Google+ Bill Cosby’s spokesperson did a good job on Sunday for Eddie Murphy. The night before the comedian made a few jokes about Cosby in a sketch show Saturday Night Live, who serves a prison sentence for drugging and abusing a woman. “who is America’s Dad now?” In the program, Murphy joked that if someone had told him thirty years ago that he would now be the one leading a boring family life while Cosby was in jail, he would have liked to make a bet with that person. He then briefly imitated Cliff Huxtable, Cosby’s character from The Cosby Show and asked in that role: “who is America’s Dad now?” On Sunday, Cosby’s spokesman Andrew Wyatt responded via the Instagram account of the fallen comedian. He states among other things: “Mr. Cosby has broken the color barriers in the entertainment industry, giving black artists such as Eddie Murphy, Dave Chappelle, Kevin Hart and others the opportunity to showcase their talents. It is sad that Mr. Murphy has his glorious return to SNL used to express contemptuously about Mr. Cosby. ” View this post on Instagram Bill Cosby’s Publicist, Andrew Wyatt, responds to Eddie Murphy’s SNL Monologue: “Mr. Cosby became the first Black to win an Emmy for his role in I Spy and Mr. Cosby broke color barriers in the Entertainment Industry, so that Blacks like Eddie Murphy, Dave Chappell, Kevin Hart and et al., could have an opportunity to showcase their talents for many generations to come. It is sad that Mr. Murphy would take this glorious moment of returning to SNL and make disparaging remarks against Mr. Cosby. One would think that Mr. Murphy was given his freedom to leave the plantation, so that he could make his own decisions; but he decided to sell himself back to being a Hollywood Slave. Stepin Fetchit plus cooning equals the destruction of Black Men in Hollywood. Remember, Mr. Murphy, that Bill Cosby became legendary because he used comedy to humanize all races, religions and genders; but your attacking Mr. Cosby helps you embark on just becoming click bait. Hopefully, you will be amenable to having a meeting of the minds conversation, in order to discuss how we can use our collective platforms to enhance Black people rather than bringing all of us down together.” #NotFunnySNL #SNL #FarFromFinished #FreeBillCosby #BillCosby A post shared by Bill Cosby (@billcosby) on Dec 22, 2019 at 5:14pm PST Wyatt continues: “You would think Mr. Murphy was given the freedom to leave the plantation so that he could make his own decisions, but he decided to sell himself back and become a Hollywood slave.” The spokesman then turns to Murphy and asks him to start a conversation “to use our common platforms to improve the position of black people instead of bringing us all down.”
