Life Claire Foy returns one-off in fourth season The Crown Posted on December 2, 2019 2 min read Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Google+ Claire Foy (35) returns in the popular series The Crown. The actress has appeared in the lead role of The Queen for two seasons, but has been replaced for the following seasons by the older actress Olivia Colman (45). The younger queen will be seen only once in season four, namely in flashbacks. Claire Foy was spotted on the set of the Netflix series. A special moment in the life of Queen Elizabeth was filmed, namely the speech she gave at the age of 21 in Cape Town in 1947. At that time, the queen visited South Africa with her parents and sister Margaret. Elizabeth said in her speech: “I declare that my whole life will be devoted to serving you and serving our great imperial family to whom we all belong.” The scene was just not recorded in sunny Cape Town, but somewhere else. In between the recordings, Claire Foy was quickly given a winter coat because she was dressed too cold. The cast of The Crown was replaced in season three. The current cast is a bit older, so that the aging of the royal family can also be seen. Yet the new actors were not really warmly received by some fans. They have difficulty with the adjustments and wanted to see the old cast again. The disappointed viewers can enjoy themselves in season four, because then Claire Foy appears once more in the series.
