Life David Bowie gets his own street in Paris Posted on January 12, 2020 1 min read Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Google+ David Bowie will soon be honored in a special way in Paris. The French capital names a street after the British music icon. The ‘rue David Bowie’ is to be in the 13th arrondissement of Paris, near the Austerlitz metro station. Jerome Coumet, the mayor of that area, told French media. The city council must decide in February whether the street will indeed be built, but according to the mayor that is just a formality. He calls it “very unlikely” that Parisians will not be able to walk on David Bowie Street. Coumet wants the street in his district because he is a big fan of Bowie. In addition, the singer “had a special connection with the city of light”. The mayor submitted the request for the street on Wednesday. A special day because Bowie would have celebrated his 73rd birthday. It was exactly four years ago on Friday that the singer died.
