George R.R. Martin, the author of the book series on which the series is based, is finishing the last books. That means readers finally find out how things go ‘on paper’ with their favorite characters. “People know an end but not the end” Martin’s slot is different from the series. “People know an end, but not the end,” the writer tells Welt. When the last two parts The Winds of Winter and A Dream of Spring appear exactly, is not yet known. The first six seasons of Game of Thrones were based on Martin’s book series A Song of Ice and Fire, but then the books were finished and the series continued. The makers came up with storylines and an end for the last two series, but that didn’t appeal to many viewers. Among other things, they complained that the story was frayed. A petition was even started to resume the last season of the show, which ended last year. More than a million disappointed fans signed it. However, the makers insisted: no new end would be filmed. The books that are yet to be published can still provide a solution for all those fans.
