Life Film Driven 2019 to tell the sad story behind DMC (DeLorean) brand By WeeklyNews staff Posted on July 4, 2019 2 min read Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Google+ If you hear the name ‘DeLorean’ as a film enthusiast, you immediately think of the supersonic car that Doc Brown and Marty travel through time in Back To The Future series. Yet the creator was never known and the brand made few cars – that were a commercial disaster. The biographical film Driven explains why. And that answer is surprising, but tragic. Creator John DeLorean, played here by Lee Pace (‘Captain Marvel’), becomes embroiled in a drug case. His neighbor Jim Hoffman (a role from Jason Sudeikis, Colossal) is convinced that DeLorean has a cocaine business and decides to inform the FBI. Hoffman becomes an informer for the FBI, and tries to catch John DeLorean with a list. Reputational damage Since it is a true story, we could already tell the outcome here, but then there is of course no reason to watch the film. Now let’s just say that John DeLorean suffered a lot of reputation damage throughout the process, and therefore – and for many other reasons – no new models seen the light. Whether or not Hoffman succeeds in lapping his neighbor in, you have to watch the film. Judy Greer, Isabel Arraiza and Corey Stoll also have roles in Driven. In the U.S. you can see Driven in the halls from August 16. When the film comes here in the cinema, it is not yet known.
