Life GoT creator does not know why prequel is canceled Posted on November 3, 2019 2 min read Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Google+ George R.R. Martin does not know why HBO pulled the plug from a Game of Thrones spin-off. The writer of the books on which the series of success is based in his blog reports this. He is disappointed but happy that another prequel, which is entitled House of the Dragon, will see the light of day. “I’ve had it several times myself” “I don’t know why HBO decided this, but I think it has nothing to do with House of the Dragon. It was not an or-or,” said George, who finds it particularly unfortunate for the countless people who had already have been busy with a pilot. “It is terrible to put blood, sweat and tears somewhere and that nothing comes out of it. But that happens more often. I have had it several times myself.” The canceled series, which never got its official name, would take place for Game of Thrones for thousands of years. Naomi Watts was announced as the lead actress. House of the Dragon is set 300 years before the original series and is about the Targaryen family.
