Life Green light for Game of Thrones prequel House of the Dragon Posted on October 31, 2019 1 min read Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Google+ Viewers do not have to say goodbye to Game of Thrones. HBO comes with a new series that takes place 300 years before, the American channel announced. House of the Dragon is about the Targaryen family and covers ten episodes. Miguel Sapochnik, who directed multiple episodes of Game of Thrones, takes on a large part of the direction. Writer George R.R. Martin, who wrote the book on which the series is based, is also involved in making House of the Dragon. When the prequel series should appear on the tube was not disclosed. The announcement of House of the Dragon comes shortly after the news that the plug was pulled from another prequel. That series would take place for Game of Thrones for thousands of years and Naomi Watts would play the lead role. However, HBO decided not to go further. Other projects that were announced earlier this year after stopping the hit series would have been canceled for the time being.
