A day later, according to the prosecutors, he assaulted a woman in a hotel in Beverly Hills. “We are convinced that the evidence will show that the suspect used his power and influence to reach his victims and then committed violent crimes against them,” prosecutor Jackie Lacey said at a press conference. “I want to praise the victims who have taken the step and bravely told what has happened to them.” The 67-year-old Weinstein is accused of sexual abuse by more than eighty women. In New York he is on trial for charges involving two women, for which the co-founder of film company Miramax can get life imprisonment.
