Life Human Rights Foundation in rage about Nicki Minaj performance in Saudi Arabia Posted on July 5, 2019 2 min read Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Google+ Human rights organization Human Rights Foundation asks Nicki Minaj not to perform in Saudi Arabia. The rapper is booked for the Jeddah World festival later this month. “If you continue this performance at a festival sponsored by the crown prince, you will be in the company of people who see murder as an answer to freedom of expression,” said the CEO of the organization in a letter to the musician Friday. “You recently celebrated Pride Week in solidarity with the LGBTQ community. If you give this action, you tolerate a government executing homosexuals for being the” crime “of who they are.” According to The Wrap, the Human Rights Foundation states in the letter that Nicki as a woman needs permission from a man to attend the festival, and must be in the presence of a man at all times. The organization writes that Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman, who finances the festival and has approved Nicki’s performance, “violates the rights of tens of millions of Saudis.” In addition to Nicki Minaj, Liam Payne and Steve Aoki have also been announced for the festival, which is taking place on 18 July.
