The film was not a huge success at the time, but in the following years the film proved to be a source of inspiration for other filmmakers and the film acquired a certain cult status. Now there is the long-expected remake. Check the trailer below. In the new Jacob’s Ladder, a man named Jacob Singer finally gets his life back after the death of his brother in Afghanistan. He has a beautiful wife, a newborn child and a successful career as a surgeon. When a stranger approaches him and tells him that his brother is still alive and lives in an underground home with other homeless veterans, Jacob’s life begins to fall out of one. He starts to hallucinate. He thinks he is being chased by violent attackers and possessed by the thought of what really happened to his brother. In the original there were roles for Tim Robbins, Elizabeth Peña and Danny Aiello, among others. In the remake we mainly see the actors Michael Ealy, Nicole Beharie, Jesse Williams and Joseph Sikora. The direction was in the hands of David M. Rosenthal, known for titles such as How It Ends (2018) and The Perfect Guy (2015). From August 23 the new Jacob’s Ladder can be seen in the American cinema halls. A Swiss release will most likely take place via Video on Demand and disk.
