Life Julia Louis-Dreyfus does not break Emmy record By weekster Posted on September 23, 2019 1 min read Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Google+ Julia Louis-Dreyfus did not become the actress with the most Emmys ever on Sunday evening. The Veep star won the award in the best actress category in a comedy Phoebe Waller-Bridge. As a result, the actress still has to share the position with Cloris Leachman, who, like her, has eight Emmys for acting on the mantle. Julia not only won the most important American television prize six times before for her role as Selina Meyer in Veep. She also won the award for best comedy actress once for her work in Seinfeld and for her role in The New Adventures Of Old Christine. In 2017 Julia already made history by scoring most Emmies for best actress in a comedy, with six wins in a row. However, last year Veep was out of the running for the prizes; the show had to take a break after the 58-year-old actress was diagnosed with breast cancer. After her treatment, Julia went back to work in the summer of 2018 for the seventh and final season of Veep.
