Justin Chambers about ‘difficult choice’ to move away from Grey’s Anatomy

It is over for Justin Chambers (49) after 15 years in the Mercy West Medical Center. The Grey’s Anatomy actor has hung the stethoscope on the willows, but that was not easy for him. He tells Page Six that.

“Now that I’m almost 50, I think it’s time”

For 15 years, Justin crawled into the skin of surgeon Alex Karev almost every day for Grey’s Anatomy and now finds it really enough. The fans are not happy, but the actor is “enthusiastic” about the future and wants to focus primarily on “life, family, love and friendship,” he told Page Six. However, that does not mean that Justin will leave without pain in his heart, although he can now spend more time with his five children.

The last episode with Alex Karev was allegedly broadcast, so that Justin now has the freedom to draw his own plan. He tells the magazine that he likes to get involved with how things are going behind the scenes. He also said that the rest of Grey’s Anatomy cast “supported” him and that he was enormously “grateful” for that. “There will never be a good time to say goodbye to a series and character that has been such a big part of my life for 15 years,” the actor said.

“On the other hand, I have wanted to play different roles and make different career choices for a long time,” Justin continues. “And now that I’m almost 50 and have a great wife and five children, I think it’s time.” Then he wanted to thank his “series family” and especially Ellen Pompeo, with whom he has been in Grey’s Anatomy since the beginning, and the countless fans for an “extraordinary adventure.”
