The Poker Face singer talked to the TV Queen and opened a book about her mental health, medication, rape, fibromyalgia and self-injury. “As a result, I developed a post-traumatic stress disorder” Lady Gaga came on stage during the 2020 Vision: Your Life is Focus tour of Oprah. The Poker Face singer spoke frankly about her life. “Some may already know, but I’m struggling with my mental health and with chronic pain,” said the Grammy winner. “I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia. While sitting here, I have pain from head to toe.” It is a chronic disease that causes pain in the muscle and connective tissue. It is unknown how the disease originates, but according to Lady Gaga it is due to “mental trauma” she has sustained. “By going into therapy and addressing my mental health, I can also relieve the pain,” she explains. Moreover, the singer told about the trauma involved. “I was raped several times when I was 19 years old. That’s why I developed a post-traumatic stress disorder because I didn’t process the trauma. I didn’t have anyone to help me. I didn’t have a therapist or psychiatrist, not even a doctor.”
