The Spanish club announced the transfer on Wednesday. Atlético reported that the English champion has already paid the contractual lump sum payment. According to the BBC, this is an amount of almost 70 million euros. That is a record for Manchester City. Rodri (23) still had a contract with Atlético until mid-2023. The Madrid club took over him for about 20 million euros from Villarreal last year. In youth he already played for Atlético. Rodri made his debut in the Spanish team last year. Shortly after the message about Rodri’s departure, Atlético announced the arrival of Mexican midfielder Héctor Herrera. The 70-time international comes from FC Porto, where he played for six seasons. Herrera signs a 3-year contract in Madrid. Atlético did business with FC Porto earlier on Wednesday about the central defender Felipe. The 30-year-old Brazilian also signs a three-year contract in the Spanish capital.
