As a result, he loses control of his muscles as soon as he is attacked by a strong emotion, especially joy. When he comes across the woman of his life, he actually has a very big problem. Check the trailer quickly. Thanks to his condition, librarian Charlie (Freeman) has taught himself how to deal with all the people, places and events in his life that might make him happy. Weddings, cute babies or puppies and of course romance are approached with extreme care within Charlie’s orderly life. Paralyzed with happiness When the gorgeous and spontaneous Francesca (Morena Baccarin) falls for him, the risk-averse Charlie faces a dilemma. Should he push his feelings away or take the risk and go for it? Can a man who is literally paralyzed with happiness find love? Ode to Joy comes from director Jason Winer, known for the romkom Arthur from 2011. Besides Freeman and Baccarin, the cast includes Melissa Rauch, Jake Lacy, Shannon Woodward, Jane Curtin, Ellis Rubin, Jackie Seiden and Adam Shapiro. The film, with a scenario by Max Werner, will be in the States from 9 August. Nothing is (yet) known about a Dutch release.
