Life Metallica has no choice but to cancel tour By weekster Posted on 2 weeks ago 2 min read Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Google+ The tour of Metallica through Australia and New Zealand has been postponed because frontman James Hetfield (56) has to go to a rehab. “We are very sorry to announce that we have to postpone the tour,” the musicians Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett and Robert Trujillo write on Twitter on behalf of the band. “We are very sorry” “As you probably know, our brother James has been struggling with addiction for years,” the band writes. “Unfortunately, he has to go to a clinic again to work on his recovery through a treatment program.” Also in 2004 the 56-year-old American was admitted. The band is extremely sorry that they have to postpone the tour. The band members announce that the tickets are reimbursed and promise to travel to Australia and New Zealand at a later date, “when health and schedule allow”. “You will hear as soon as we know more.” The tour was supposed to start on October 17 and continue until November 2. Metallica would perform together with Slipknot. That band informs on Twitter that they have only recently heard the news. “We will let you know as soon as possible what we are going to do. Of course we are thinking now of James and Metallica.
