Michelle Obama receives Grammy Award for audiobook

1 min read

Michelle Obama (56) can put a prestigious prize in her closet: a Grammy award. The former First Lady of the United States won it in the Best Spoken Word Album category for the audiobook of her memoir Becoming.

Obama beat her competitors The Beastie Boys, Eric Alexandrakis, John Waters and Sekou Andrews.

Michelle follows in the footsteps of husband Barack, who has previously won 2 Grammies for the audio version of his books The Audacity Of Hope (2008) and Dreams From My Father (2006). Another First Lady who ever won the prize is Hillary Clinton in 1997 for It Takes A Village.
