Miley Cyrus settles case with Jamaican lead writer

58 second read

Miley Cyrus has reached a settlement with the Jamaican songwriter Michael May. He accused the singer of plagiarism. Mileys We Can’t Stop, her 2013 hit, would look too much like a song May had written years ago. The settlement would amount to 300 million dollars.

May, who acts as Flourgon, sued Cyrus almost two years ago and claimed that We Can’t Stop was very similar to his 1988 We Run Things. In Jamaica, the song was a big hit.

Due to the settlement, a lawsuit is now gone.
