The show, based on the 1993 comedy film with Robin Williams in the lead, will first be shown in Seattle at the end of this year before it makes the crossing to The Big Apple. Rob McClure, who was nominated for a Tony award for best actor in 2013, will play the role of Mrs. Doubtfire. The show will premiere on Broadway (New York) on April 5, 2020. Mrs. Doubtfire is about actor Daniel Hillard who is in divorce and is no longer allowed to see his children from his ex. To still be able to be with his offspring, he disguises himself as an old nanny (Mrs. Doubtfire) in order to be able to secretly be with his children.
