Life Netflix cancels plans for fast playback after criticism By weekster Posted on November 1, 2019 2 min read Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Google+ Netflix does not offer the possibility to play series and films at an accelerated pace or at a slow pace. The streaming service tested this possibility last week, which put the company on a lot of comments from Hollywood. “Netflix is better than that” When it became known that a number of subscribers could temporarily adjust the playback speed of the Netflix offering on their mobile phones, Judd Apatow and Aaron Paul, among others, reacted in anger. “No, that’s not how it works,” Judd tweeted. “Distributors may not change anything in the content.” Aaron said, “It doesn’t exist that Netflix will continue this. That would mean they decide on someone else’s creative work. Netflix is better than that.” The streaming company announced on its own site on Tuesday that it was only a test in which users could try out multiple functions. According to Netflix, adjusting the playback speed is one of the requests that regularly comes from subscribers. The platform emphasizes that DVDs also have that possibility, but says they have no plans to introduce the function in the short term.
