Rock band Queen and Adam Lambert and stars like Alice Cooper, k.d. lang and Olivia Newton-John give a 9-hour benefit concert in Sydney, according to Australian media. Comedian Celeste Barber will present the show at ANZ Stadium. She raised 50 million Australian dollars (31 million euros) in donations via the internet in a week: much more than the 30,000 dollars she had in mind when she started the crowdfunding campaign. More than 1.2 million people from at least 75 countries transferred money. Australia has been ravaged for months by devastating forest fires that have killed dozens of people. The proceeds from the benefit concert on 16 February will go to the Red Cross and the fire brigade, among others.
