Paris Hilton: “I played a character all my life”

3 min read

Paris Hilton (38) became known at breakneck speed by the reality program The Simple Life, which revolved entirely around her. The American society star now says that she played a type at the time. “I was an enlarged version of myself.”

“I just saw that character as entertainment”

People all over the world think they know Paris Hilton better than anyone, through its reality series. “They’ve seen me in those programs, but that’s not who I am,” Paris says. According to the Hilton heiress, she has played a role all along. “I knew what I was doing. I was making a program. An entertainment program. That’s why I did it.” To get rid of that rich, spoiled image, Paris is launching a documentary, about itself of course, on YouTube. This is Paris should show people who Paris Hilton really is.

Paris makes the documentary film because she finds it annoying that people have had a wrong view of her for years. She does get it, because she has been making mean jokes about other people all the time. She was also rather spoiled than neglected and the best was not good enough for her. “It is a shame that people see me like this. I have grown as a person. Sometimes it is frustrating that people think that I really am that magnified person.

Yet at the end of the ride Paris is not dissatisfied with the image she has created of herself. “I made it into a huge brand,” she says. “I don’t regret it. In my new YouTube documentary, people are going to see who I really am.”
