Put Queen Latifah in the spotlight

The University of Harvard assigned Queen Latifah (49) to the Du Bois Medal out for her contribution to black history and culture. This is reported by The New York Times.

The singer receives the honorable prize on behalf of the Hutchins Center for African and African American Research, which is part of the famous university in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

In addition to Queen Latifah, six others received the medal, named after Du Bois. This was a human rights writer and pioneer who was the first black student to receive a Ph.D. from Harvard in 1895.
