Kelly did not participate in the second part of the series of lectures about her former husband. Drea Kelly is therefore furious that she can be seen in a trailer for Surviving R. Kelly Part II: The Reckoning that was released on Wednesday. Drea, who was married to the singer from 1996 to 2009, did appear in the first part of the documentary, which was released last year. In it several women accuse the musician of sexual abuse, abuse of power and sex with minors. His ex-wife explains to People, among others, that she has refused to cooperate in a second season of Surviving R. Kelly, because she thinks the producers have put a lot of effort into the aftercare for the alleged victims. She also states that Lifetime has contacted her three children with Robert Kelly and other family members after she asked them not to. Misleading Lisa Van Allen, one of the other women who spoke about Kelly in the docu, also reacted angrily to the trailer on Wednesday, in which she can be seen. “Lifetime included images of me in the promo after I kindly thanked you for participating in part 2,” she writes on Instagram. “This is misleading for the viewer and it makes it clear to me that they only think of viewing figures and have no integrity and loyalty.” Robert Kelly was arrested after the first part of the documentary and has to appear in four different cases in court next year.
