Life R. Kelly refrains from hearing in Minneapolis By weekster Posted on September 16, 2019 1 min read Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Google+ An arrest warrant was issued against R. Kelly (52) for not showing up during a hearing in Minneapolis on Thursday. During the hearing, R. Kelly should have given a text and explanation about an event in 2001 when he would have paid a teenage girl to strip and dance for him, reports the Start Tribune. The 52-year-old R&B singer was expected in court at 1.30 pm, but neither he nor his lawyer showed up. Kelly is currently stuck in Chicago for, among other things, inciting child pornography and inciting underage girls to have sex. According to USA Today, the attorney general of the US state of Illinois would have informed the judge in Minneapolis that R. Kelly would not be available for the hearing. The federal authorities and also the lawyers of R. Kelly do not want him to cross state borders. According to the judiciary, the arrest warrant issued does not take effect until the federal case in Chicago has been completed. That process starts on April 27, 2020.
