Life Rapper Lizzo tells her side of plagiarism story By weekster Posted on October 25, 2019 2 min read Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Google+ A new round of events between Lizzo and producers Justin and Jeremiah Raisen. The men accuse the singer of plagiarism, something that Lizzo firmly denies. According to Justin and Jeremiah, she would have adopted music chords and a text for her song Truth Hurts. Via Twitter she says that the case is very different from what the two suggest. In addition, Melissa Viviane Jefferson, as Lizzo is really called, is now bringing a lawsuit against them. “This song is my life and its words are my truth” “Those guys who claim to have co-written with Truth Hurts didn’t do that. They have nothing to do with the rule I sang. This song is my life and its words are my truth,” said Lizzo. This concerns the text: “I just took a DNA test, turns out I’m 100 per cent that bitch”. It is not the first time that Lizzo has been accused of plagiarism for the song Truth Hurts. In 2018 the British singer Mina Lioness claimed that she would have taken a text from a tweet of her, something that Lizzo said she didn’t know. On Twitter the American announced that she would share part of the revenue from her song with the British.
