He is also working on a series about fashion designer Halston, with Ewan McGregor in the leading role. Ryan Murphy, who was previously responsible for series such as Glee, American Horror Story and American Crime Story, signed with Netflix in 2018. The streaming service brought him in for 300 million dollars. He will work for Netflix whole five years according to the contract. In an interview with Time on Tuesday, he announced more about his plans with the streaming service. He announced that he had snapped Patti LuPone for the Hollywood series, a project he described as “a love letter to the golden age in Tinseltown.” Earlier it was announced that Holland Taylor, especially known from Two And A Half Men, will also be featured in the series. With Jessica Lange, Murphy has plans for a film or series about Marlene Dietrich, but he indicates in the interview that he has no time to start on that for the time being. The first television project on Netflix is The Politician, with Gwyneth Paltrow and Ben Platt in the lead roles. This series can be seen from the end of September at the streaming service.
