Life Selena Gomez: “I was happier during social media break” By weekster Posted on January 12, 2020 2 min read Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Google+ It has been good for Selena Gomez to take a break from social media for two years. The 27-year-old singer even felt a lot happier when she was no longer confronted with commentary on her appearance, life choices and singing talent on a daily basis. “There were millions of things I didn’t want to see” Selena, who is now posting on Instagram and Twitter, also struggled with the ‘great’ lives that others seemed to have on social media. “There were millions of things I didn’t want to see at all. I watched them pass by all the time. I started comparing myself with that,” the singer looked back in the Apple Music’s Beats 1 podcast. “Why is it that everything is so nice for everyone else?” Selena also came across accounts that only posted negative messages about her. “They were about my body, my face, my facial features, the choices I made and other stories. It made me crazy because I wanted to tell them that nobody knew what they were talking about. It broke me. So I stopped and I tell everyone that this has changed everything for me. ” Her offline time was very nice. “I was so much happier with myself and what I looked like. It helped a lot.” The writing of her new album Rare has also ensured that she has more confidence and is now better able to deal with social media.
