Life Sophie Turner stands up for football player Posted on July 6, 2019 2 min read Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Google+ Sophie Turner has given American football star Alex Morgan a helping hand. The international received a lot of criticism after she in the semi-final of the World Cup after her winning goal against England pretended to drink a cup of tea. Many viewers found her gesture disrespectful, but Morgan said it was a reference to Turner’s social media posts. She often closes her videos with a sip of tea and the statement “And that’s the tea”, which means not the drink, but the latest gossip. The Game Of Thrones actress reacted in a video in her Instagram Stories on Friday. In it she first considered the defeat of her home country last Tuesday. “Unfortunately the British women have lost and I think that is a shame of course, but I am very proud of that team,” said the 23-year-old. “And I think it is an honor that we have lost to such a great team, the American women.” Then she turned to Morgan. “All those haters who call this disrespectful, I think it is an honor that you thought of me. I am so proud of you, congratulations on winning.” After which she used her standard ending: “And that’s the f * cking tea.”
