Life “Thor: Ragnarok director in conversation for new Star Wars film” Posted on January 19, 2020 1 min read Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Google+ Disney is said to have asked Taika Waititi (44) to make a new Star Wars film. The JoJo Rabbit director is familiar with the spacesaga: he is a voice actor in The Mandalorian and directed the final episode of the first season of that series. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the conversations between Waititi, producer Lucasfilm and parent company Disney are still at an early stage. With The Rise Of Skywalker, Disney released the last film in the current saga last month, which began in 1977 with A New Hope. A new cinema project for Star Wars has not yet been announced, but new ideas are being worked on behind the scenes. Kevin Feige, currently the boss of another Disney daughter Marvel, would also work on a film or film series in the series.
