Limburg got disconnected from the Net

1 min read

Internet, telephony and video on demand didn’t work for much of Sunday in much of Limburg. It happened due to a malfunction at Ziggo internet provider. All connections were back online around 8 p.m.

At first, Ziggo hoped that the problems would be resolved early in the afternoon. After all, the first reports about the outage arrived at Allestoringen.nl in the morning around 5:00 a.m. According to the company, all this worked again around 1 pm with 80 percent of customers in Limburg.

Because many people requested more information about the failure via the provider’s fault checker, that page also received a fault on Sunday, Ziggo reported.

The problem lay with a signal failure from the central network to the Limburg region. It is not known exactly how many connections were made.
