Italian insurance giant Assicurazioni Generali is examining options for its Swiss insurance business. Bloomberg news agency reports that a sale of the part is also being considered.

Generali Switzerland, which employs approximately 1800 people, has more than fifty branches here and offers life, property and legal insurance, as well as pension products. Generali’s deliberations are still at an early stage, and Generali may decide to keep the part, the sources said. The insurance group itself declined to comment.
