Car dealership holding Emil Frey Switzerland has fallen victim to cyber criminals. The cyber attack has’ some effect ‘ on the group’s operational activities; for example, the company’s German website has been removed from the air as a precaution. The dealer holding company has since informed various authorities of the hacking attack. Internal and external specialists are now trying to establish what the damage is. Simon Luijckx, Chairman of the Board of Emil Frey Nederland, reports on request that the Dutch activities have not been affected and that the cyber attack has no effect on the Dutch activities. The number of hacks in the automotive industry is increasing. Last year, for example, expertise agency CED Group, RDC and Bochane group became victims of cyber criminals.
