Eurozone retail sales were up 0.9 percent in February from the previous month when the revised rate was up 0.7 percent. This was reported by the European statistics agency Eurostat. Economists had actually expected a plus of 0.1 percent for February. The January figure was adjusted from a previously reported increase of 0.6 percent. Across the European Union, retail sales climbed 0.8 percent in February, just as they had a month earlier.
