Maker of detergents, soap and adhesives, among others, Henkel recorded less turnover in the first quarter of the year. The company behind brands such as Schwarzkopf and Persil, as well as Pritt’s adhesives, suffered from the negative effects of the corona crisis. The demand for industrial adhesives in particular lagged. For example, Henkel supplies to the car industry, which is hit hard by the corona crisis. Henkel also saw turnover in his beauty products fall. Sales in the laundry and home care division did go up. This was mainly due to the additional sales of soap, which was boosted by the corona fear. Henkel closed the measurement period with 4.9 billion euros in turnover. As a result, annual organic turnover decreased by 0.9 percent. Henkel previously withdrew his forecasts for this year. The company has not yet ventured into a new prediction.
