Lidl Switzerland is expanding its range of regional products and has introduced the ‘Tipico’ region programme. Lidl Switzerland added that it owes more than 50% of its sales to Swiss products and that this percentage will rise steadily. In the fresh sector, such as fruit, vegetables, fresh meat, bread, dairy products, as many as two thirds of all products come from Switzerland. The programmes like this is in effect in many countries and it reflects the trends for greener production due to simplified logistics as well as nationalistic tendencies in Europe.
