A garage owner goes on trial today accused of embezzling more than CHF 17m. The 47-year-old is accused of using several leasing contracts and illegally selling leased luxury cars, such as Ferraris and Lamborghinis. In all its thought more than 140 vehicles are involved. The police investigation has already taken six years. The focus surrounds a garage in Dinitikon in canton Aargau. The man is also charged with falsifying ownership papers. The investigation has been so complex, the cantonal parliament approved a further CHF 3.5m to cover costs in 2012. The money was used to pay for more detectives. The trial is expected to last 2 weeks. The man rejects the allegations.
