The French media and telecom company Vivendi has concluded an agreement for the acquisition of pay-TV operator M7 Group, which owns, among other things, the Dutch provider of Canal Digital satellite television. The French are paying an amount of just over 1 billion euros for M7 to investor Astorg. In addition to Canal Digital, M7 is also the owner of Online.nl in the Netherlands. The Luxembourg media company also owns TV platforms in many other European countries, including TV Vlaanderen and TéléSAT in Belgium and Diveo in Germany. With the acquisition, which still needs to be approved by the European Union, Vivendi adds more than 400 million euros in turnover to its total. The French are the owners of Canal Plus, among others.
