15-year-old Disney actress died of brain tumor

Sad news about the 15-year-old actress Nikita Pearl Waligwa. The actress, known from the Disney movie ‘Queen of Katwe’, died of the effects of a brain tumor. This is reported by Ugandan media, the country where Nikita comes from. She played the role of Gloria in the film.

The girl was told in 2016 that she had a brain tumor, and although she was declared ‘clean’ a year later, the disease finally caught up with her. In 2018 it was hit again and a new brain tumor was found. Mira Nair, the director of the Disney film in which the young actress played, would have made a call to have her treatment funded in India. The reason for this was that the doctors in Uganda would not have the right equipment.

According to Ugandan media, Nikita finally died in a hospital in Kampala, much to the sorrow of her fans.
