Life Actress Julie Walters cures a colon cancer Posted on February 20, 2020 2 min read Share on Facebook Share on Twitter Share on Google+ Actress Julie Walters was diagnosed with colon cancer a year and a half ago. The British woman had two tumors in her colon, she says in an interview with the BBC. After surgery and chemotherapy, she was declared cancer free again, eighteen months later. “I could not believe it” Julie was recording her new movie, The Secret Garden, when her stomach and intestines bothered her. She went to the doctor with this, and the doctors soon feared that she had cancer. The actress could barely contain this news. “I thought: this is ridiculous. They must have been mistaken. I could not believe it”. After surgery, during which a 30-centimeter piece was removed from her colon, Julie underwent chemotherapy. It went well, says the actress. She did not suffer from hair loss and the cancer disappeared. “I just did another scan, and now I’m sure I’m clean.” Due to her recovery, Julie had to be excluded from certain scenes in The Secret Garden, in which she plays with Colin Firth. In her own words, Julie completely changed the disease as a person. Now she considers the work, in particular, less important. It was even a “relief” to get out of a constantly rotating carousel. “I would do two more big series and two more films. And I did not do them all. That was great”.
