Bill Cosby is at the forefront of the appeal

1 min read

Actor Bill Cosby (82) has lost the appeal against his conviction for drugging and abusing Andrea Constand, a former Temple University employee, in 2004. That would have happened in his home near Philadelphia. Cosby has always denied that.

The Pennsylvania appeals court rejected Tuesday’s argument from Cosby’s lawyers that the judge had previously denied him a fair trial.

The 82-year-old American comedian, once the incense star in The Cosby Show, was found guilty in April 2018 of three charges of sexual abuse. He was sentenced to between three and ten years’ imprisonment. It was the first conviction of a celebrity after the rise of the # MeToo movement.

Since comedian Hannibal Buress called Cosby a rapist in 2014, dozens of women have reported the comedian.
