He was more famous for his role as the superhero Black Panther in Marvel’s successful reeks comic films. Boseman was suffering from cancer. Boseman received his first major turd in 2013, when he played the baseball legend Jackie Robinson. A year later, he played the role of soul singer James Brown in the biopic Get On Up. In the Marvel film Captain America: Civil War (2016) Boseman first played Black Panther, the chief of a tribe of the fictional African nation Wakanda. In 2018, the character was given his own film, simply called Black Panther. The film won three Oscars. Boseman’s family announced his death in his social media accounts. He was diagnosed with colon cancer as early as 2016, but this was not publicly known. The statement says he was in several movies while he was already undergoing surgery and chemotherapy. His family calls him “a true warrior.”
