Dutch fans of the late David Bowie will have the opportunity to see his musical Lazarus in Rotterdam next year. From April next year the production will take place in the old Luxor Theater for three weeks, as announced on Wednesday. Earlier extra shows were announced in Heerlen and Groningen.

Although Lazarus will make his Dutch debut only in October at the DeLaMar Theater in Amsterdam, the tickets for Bowie’s musical fly over the board. Previously, the playing period was extended from three months to six months and Groningen and Heerlen were added, but Stage Entertainment producer also approached the Rotterdam theater due to its success. Tickets are already for sale.

Lazarus will premiere in Amsterdam on Sunday 13 October. The rehearsals start next week. Last week it was announced that Dragan Bakema will take over the leading role from Gijs Naber. In addition, Noortje Herlaar, Pieter Embrechts and Holly Mae Brood can be seen in the show directed by Ivo van Hove.

The musical premiered in December 2015 and was one of the last Bowie projects. The pop singer died on January 10, 2016 at the age of 69 from cancer.
